YULISSA MENDOZA

Based in Los Angeles, California. The foundation of their photography stems from their desire to facilitate safe spaces in order for people to be able to express themselves fully and explore themselves further. They use this as their building block in order to amplify voices, empower marginalized communities, and carve space for those often overlooked. They aim to rebuke rigid, old gender roles while honoring cultures and pushing the boundaries of fashion and culture. They are currently working on showcasing the diversity within communities to counter the idea that queer, bipoc communities are monolithic.

Yulissa is available for Lookbooks, editorial work, commercial projects, content creation, model/artist portfolios, portraiture, headshots, and more.

Mediums include: Digital, 35mm, and super 8mm

When they are not taking photographs, Yulissa can be found dressed in head to toe vintage, sipping on coffee, sharing stories with friends over dinner, volunteering at art centered non-profits, or on a last minute road trip to sit and embrace the earth's colors during golden hour.
